Run your Career As If It’s Your Business – A Tactical Take On Career Planning

17 January 2020 @ 12:30 - 13:15

WEBINAR: Run your career as if it’s your business: a tactical take on career planning

When was the last time you thought about how to progress your career?

Do you have a clear understanding of who you are as a person, what you enjoy and care about, and how that correlates with a successful, sustainable, long-term career?

Do you know who the stakeholders are in the success of your own career and how to be more visible to them?

Most of us don’t spend much time thinking about these things.  In fact, we probably spend more time on buying a new home appliance than on planning and managing our careers. Yet, when we leave our careers to chance we let others make decisions on our behalf and risk ending up unfulfilled and unhappy.

In this webinar Karin Mueller will show you how treating your career in the same way you would treat a business can help get the clarity and direction you need to make the right choices.

Starting with values and purpose, Karin explores what really gets us out of bed in the morning, what motivates and excites us. You will develop your own personal vision of success and get clear on what you want your career to look like in the medium-term future.

Armed with this clarity, we will look at some practical steps you can take towards reaching your goals. Specifically, we explain how managing your personal brand will help you stand out from the crowd. We will talk about the importance of continuous learning and creative and low/ no cost ways of developing the skills you need to move ahead. Last but not least we take a look at your network and discuss how to network in a genuine and strategic way that builds mutually beneficial relationships and helps you reach your goals.
