Katherine Mount

EDI Consultant and Trainer

EDI Consultant and Trainer

Katherine is a highly skilled presenter and trainer with 25 years’ training experience, including on the Equality Act. Having originally qualified as a professional actress, she has utilised her performance and observation skills in her specialised programmes in communication and has provided training on topics such as Difficult Conversations, Influencing skills, Negotiation and Personal impact.

Katherine knows that at all levels in all organisations there is a need to interact with others effectively, respectfully, and ideally in a way that encourages the very best from those around us.  Using the Equality Act 2010 and case law as a start-point, she has worked with many organisations to raise awareness of  the impact we all have on others in the workplace, the risks and legal implications of inappropriate behaviour and discrimination, and the value of equity, inclusion and diversity.  Her expertise in communications helps people understand how they can improve inclusion by utilising their skills to improve peer-to-peer communication, and by using their influencing skills to build and maintain momentum on the diversity transformation journey.

During the course of Katherine’s career she has worked with well over a hundred organisations nationally (UK) and internationally. These include  local authorities, government departments, banks, financial institutions and insurance companies, event organisers, energy companies, IT companies, hospitals and healthcare trusts, telecommunications companies, schools and universities, food producers, travel companies, logistics organisations, entertainment companies, pharmaceuticals companies and retail establishments.

Outside of this work she continues to perform as a professional actress and classical singer, and runs a successful theatre production company funded by Arts Council England.  Katherine is also currently completing her Masters in Law, which has become an outright passion.  Katherine is also the parent of a profoundly deaf autistic child and an advocate for the use and teaching of British Sign Language.
