Tami is one of our Diversity and Inclusion consultants, with a particular passion for and expertise in bringing D&I to Japanese , Chinese and other Asian-rooted organisations.
Tami is also an expert trainer and an ICF-accredited leadership and career coach who works with a diverse range of individuals as well as organisational clients around the world.
Tami’s varied career spans over twenty years working for international organisations based in London and Asia. She started out as a corporate lawyer (in private practice with a `magic circle` international law firm and as corporate counsel for a US conglomerate), before becoming a senior lecturer and mentor at leading law schools in London and Tokyo, and then developing her international coaching, training and consultancy practice.
Tami’s main areas of expertise include helping:
- organisations embrace and develop their D+I culture so as to create a solid platform from which their employees can thrive, drive innovation and implement positive and sustainable changes; and
- aspiring leaders and leaders break through racial and gender career ceilings and stereotypes to find their own unique paths to greater fulfilment and results by developing leadership skills, confidence, resilience and an ability to communicate with impact.
Clients comment on her empathetic, inclusive and honest style as well as her ability to bring a fresh, new perspective and lots of positive energy.
Tami was born in Japan and educated from secondary school level onwards in England. She is bilingual in Japanese and English, has a solid working knowledge of Mandarin and a reasonable grasp (although a touch rusty) of French and German through educational and cultural exposure to these countries. Tami’s excellent cross-cultural communication skills and her international perspective has been further fine-tuned having lived, worked and raised her family in London, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo.
In her spare time, there is nothing she enjoys more than immersing herself in nature.
