CREATING A TOOL KIT FOR THE DISCUSSION OF CHALLENGING TOPICS

Successful companies are not the ones that build a business, then look at diversity as a nice-to-have attribute. Truly successful and innovative companies are those that build diverse teams when they are just starting out in their own apartment or their folks’ garage. Diversity is a mentality, not just a strategic imperative.  Forbes Magazine

We all agree that Diversity is good for business. In fact, most organisations openly set Diversity objectives and targets. Yet all of us struggle to achieve and maintain them. Why is that? What else can we do that’s more effective and creates real transformation at work? The starting point is a conversation.

This session enables you to deal with the ‘elephant in the room’, i.e. the challenging conversations, with your team, your colleagues, your superiors and senior executives, giving you the tools to effect real change in a sustainable, palatable and respective manner.

Together we explore:

➢ what’s stopping you from having these types of discussions with teams and leaders?

➢ what are some of the objections/common misconceptions that exist about the reasons targets aren’t met? How do we dispel them?

➢ What are some common ‘fears’ of broaching a particular subject with colleagues?

➢ How do we uncover some of the assumptions that are causing those fears?

➢ How can we replace these unhelpful, often untrue, assumptions with true and liberating ones?

We leave you with a set of actions giving you a tool kit that can and should be utilised straight away.

Strength lies in differences, not in similarities. Stephen Covey, author of “7 habits of highly effective people”
