Authentic Voices: An Interview with Acclaimed Author Selina Siak Chin Yoke

27 June 2018 @ 18:30 - 21:00

Join Voice At The Table and Reed Smith LLP as we interview acclaimed author Selina Siak Chin Yoke, who will share the fascinating twists and turns of a life from the spires of Oxford to the thrusting world of business and then to writing.

Selina is the author of The Woman Who Breathed Two Worlds and When the Future Comes Too Soon, historical fiction novels set in British Malaya that have been acclaimed by readers and critics. She is currently completing her third book.

Before a career in writing, Selina worked as a theoretical physicist, investment banker and quantitative trader. She is a CFA charter holder and member of the Society of Authors and holds a PhD in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics and a B.Sc. First Class Honours degree in Physics.

Over the course of the evening Selina will weave in her life story, her experience growing up as a Malaysian Chinese in a predominantly Muslim country, and her stance on diversity, inclusion and society.  Selina’s stories don’t just inspire, they provoke your thinking, challenge your own perceptions of the world, and leave you motivated and moved.
